In Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto franchise, players have been able to walk the streets while armed to the teeth without attracting attention from the non-player characters populating the world. However, the NPCs in Grand Theft Auto 6 will be considerably more preceptive than their counterparts in the earlier games. And that means packing weapons in public is going to come at a price. According to a GTA 6 preview in The New York Times , "a player in this one cannot whip out a shotgun or a rocket launcher and walk down the street without expecting the non-player characters to call the police.
